Under the terms of the agreement announced in December 2009, IBM will offer eyeOS to any client who purchases IBM server infrastructure (IBM Power i, System Z Mainframe). The IBM Power i and System Z Mainframes are primarily used by medium-sized and large organizations for critical applications such as data processing, and are considered the market’s most reliable solutions. As IBM states in a Red paper about eyeOS, eyeOS has an excellent scalability on high-use servers, with thousands of customers accessing the Web services concurrently, making it an excellent solution in this environment.
